One of the biggest issues in keeping your living or family room organized in your home or cabin is what to do with your magazines. This is especially true if you have a rental cabin because you want to keep a diverse array of reading materials available for your renters.
Now you can organize your magazines in artistic style with this beautiful leather magazine rack created by the Eduardo Asis family of artists.
Chocolate colored embossed leather graces this handmade magazine rack.

Check out this beautiful hand carved eagle statuette made by a very talented Indonesian artist. This statue would really add a nice touch to any log cabin by bringing nature right into your home!
Pande Made Anom is the artist that created this work and many other sculptures from Balinese suar wood. He says, "Animal statuettes are a great alternative, rather than endangering an animal’s life by locking them up in a cage."
Pande learned his carving trade from his uncle helping his to see and convey the animal’s movement in his work. He especially likes to carve predator birds like eagle and owl.
I know where I’d place this statuette if I were to get it, right on top of the corner where our two bookcases meet. Where would you place it?

A few hundred years in the past, artists living in the Black Forest of Germany carved exceptionally beautiful works of art portraying much of the wildlife in the forest at that time.
This style of art is becoming know again and can be found all across the globe in log cabin decor from Yosemite log cabins to the mountains of Switzerland. If originals of any of these works were available today they would be worth tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
You can add this old world touch to your log cabin decor with these beautiful reproductions from Black Forest Decor. Many different items are available in this style such as lighting, clocks, deer sculptures, bear sculptures and much more. Get more information on these beautiful sculptures.

Bring the wild and untamed outdoors into your log cabin with a rustic bear lamp. You can add a more refined and sophisticated look to you cabin like with the lamp to the left or you can add the fun and whimsical look of playful black bears.
The nice thing about a bear lamp like this is not only does it add a nice decorating touch to your cabin, it actually performs a necessary function in your home.
When you build a cabin and use the traditional tongue and groove style wood walls, you will need twice as much light as in a conventional home with painted walls. The wood and darker stains on the walls absorb light. So when you go to add lamps to end tables and night stands, you might want to think twice about your lighting needs.

Want to add a really rustic look and feel to your log cabin or home? Have a look at the Antler Lamp to the left. Having an antler lamp is like having part of nature right inside your cabin.
An antler lamp is a nice way to add a warm, cozy atmosphere to any room in your log cabin or home. Antler lamps and chandeliers are becoming extremely popular decorations and are really more like works of art.
The nice thing about an antler lamp as opposed to an antler chandelier is that they are much less expensive. You can still have the exotic look of having antler lighting in your dwelling without the high cost.
Have a look at Black Forest Decor to see all they offer in antler lamps.

Have you ever thought about adding a carved duck decoy to your log cabin. Duck decoys are becoming very popular today as an accessory for cabins, lodges and country homes.
Any kind of wildlife decor has the effect of bringing the outdoors inside. The cabin and rustic lifestyle is popular for that very fact.
I found this nice carved duck decoy that just might fit along with your cabin decor by artist John Gewerth. It’s hand carved and hand painted and measures 16" long by 5 1/2" tall.

Someday even the most modern looking log cabin furniture you’ve picked out for today will look old or out of style, or both. But your flooring, which will certainly be wood, could last well past the ownership of your cabin, that is if you choose the right wood flooring. For example the wood floors in Thomas Jefferson’s home, Monticello, have been there for nearly 200 years.
There are several different kind of wood and several different kind of finishes you can have on your floor. With all there is to choose from, making a decision can be a difficult one.
I found an article in the San Jose Mercury News that will help take the mystery out of choosing a wood for your cabin flooring.
You can also find out more information about hardwoods at the American Hardwood Information Center.

How about adding a really unique sink to your log cabin bathroom? Cabins are truly comfy and unique homes, but wouldn’t it be great to add little touches here and there to reflect your personal style.
I’ve found a nice little custom accent you can add to your bathroom. It’s a copper sink from Claw Foot Supply oh, and did I say it’s had made? This little jewel is a hand hammered and has detailed fish swimming around the sides and bottom of the bowl.
The sink is made of 14 guage copper and doesn’t spot like traditional metal sinks. The sink measures 17" in diameter and is 6" deep.
